A estreia brasileira de BEYOND IPANEMA - Ondas Brasileiras na Música Global vai ser no Festival do Rio 2009. O filme faz parte da Mostra Música, parte da Premiere Brasil, e tem exibição no sábado, dia 26 de setembro, à meia-noite, no Cine Odeon. Até lá!

Hello, Brazil! After a successful World Premiere at the Museum of Modern Art, in New York City, and festival screenings in New Zealand and South Korea, BEYOND IPANEMA will finally be shown in Brazil. The film is an official selection of the Rio International Film Festival (September 24th to October 8th, 2009). The film’s premiere will be on Saturday, September 26th, at midnight, at Cine Odeon.

In the U.S., the next festival screenings are at the AFI Latin American Film Festival, in Washington, DC.

BEYOND IPANEMA will screen at the AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center on Saturday, October 3rd, at 8 PM, and Thursday, October 8th, at 7 PM.

BEYOND IPANEMA was the subject of a column by author, songwriter and music critic Nelson Motta on Jornal da Globo, a nightly news show on Brazil’s main network.

Filmmakers Guto Barra and Béco Dranoff recently showed Beyond Ipanema at Spark International Festival of Media and Design in Hamilton, New Zealand. The 11th edition of the event held at the Waikato Institute of Technology saw packed sessions and excitement all around.
Beyond Ipanema was also the subject of an interview in the national TV show “Sunrise” (their “Good Morning America”).

Brazil’s “O Estado de S.Paulo” and “Jornal do Brasil” were among the first major publications to highlight Beyond Ipanema.
